You are with two other people. You know what you ate. You do not need this application.

You are with eight people. You all had chicken or fish. You do not need this application.

The company is covering your expenses. You do not need this application.

You are with a group of twelve people. Two had steak, and a large quantity of expensive red wine. Four had one or another sort of pasta, and a salad, and some white wine. Three showed up for dessert and cocktails. Two people had cocktails and appetizers in modest and less modest amounts. One person doesnt really know what he had. Two people are missing, and the bill is large.

Designed by touring musicians from the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, CheckReckon is the implementation of a useful and simple algorithm to quickly and equitably divide restaurant bills (including tip).

Each diner should choose a number between 1 and 10 corresponding to his estimated consumption; these numbers are used to divide up the bill fairly amongst the guests. The estimation of the levels may generate a bit of discussion, but the process tends to work out very reasonably.

This app provides a quick, convenient and accurate resource for making this calculation, (which can be a bit much with only a calculator and pen, though it is straightforward). We hope it will help you as it helps us, and sends you and your fellows nicely into the night.
